…Communities silenced by the Troubles are hoping that the changing hands of power in Northern Ireland is a chance for new voices to be heard in government, and for discussion of subjects other than war. The lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community is not new, but its voice has been hard to hear since emigration, disillusionment and exhaustion took their toll on activism in the early 1980s.
